6 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (23 Oct)

5. Making The Best Of It

Dustin Rhodes Bryan Danielson
AEW

Hands up who else loves a surprise?

Nobody actually believed that Dustin Rhodes was beating Bryan Danielson to advance in the World Title Eliminator tournament, but both guys got a good 15 minutes to try and trick everyone into thinking that was a possibility. Amazingly, they almost succeeded - that's the surprise.

It's certainly not a shocker that workers this skilled put on a show. Danielson is having the time of his life working these bouts in AEW, and Dustin must've been mentally turned on by the thought of wrestling a big star in such an important match. This was a hot launching point for Dynamite.

Daniel Bryan vs. Goldust would've got around three minutes on Raw years ago, so it's nice to see these veterans go out and smash it like this. That's something AEW does so well. The company knows when to loosen limitations and let wrestlers wrestle.
