6 Ups & 6 Downs from WWE Raw (2 June - Results & Review)

4. Another Disappointing Sane Match

WWE Raw Kairi Sane Raquel Rodriguez
WWE

Kairi Sane is a decorated wrestler who has racked up accolades both inside and outside WWE. But that doesn’t change the reality that her matches since returning to the company have been severely lacking at times.

The Pirate Princess battled the much larger Raquel Rodriguez on Monday night in an underwhelming match that saw Kairi flail against the much larger Raquel. Sane seemed to struggle once again, with her offense looking unconvincing and fans checking out for much of the match, chanting for R-Truth.

Sane would pick up her second singles win in a row (beating Liv Morgan last week) after distractions from Liv and Iyo Sky would backfire for Raquel and lead to her head getting spiked into the ring post. Yes, babyfaces can capitalize on heel miscommunication, but winning back-to-back matches due to heel shenanigans isn’t exactly a push, especially in subpar matches.

It feels more like WWE is trying to jumpstart Kairi without overcommitting. Here’s hoping that something clicks soon.
