6 Ups & 6 Downs from WWE Raw (2 June - Results & Review)
5. Tiny, Boring Tag Division
Longtime WWE fans will wax romantically about the “SmackDown Six Era” from 2002, a time when three tag teams dominated the blue brand and elevated wrestling on the show on a consistent basis.
While it’s possible for three tag teams to energize an entire division, that does not mean that any three teams can accomplish this goal. Witness the Raw tag division in 2025, as four teams – champs the New Day, Creed Brothers, War Raiders, and Judgment Day – continue to slog through a series of matches that underwhelm and send fans careening toward the concession stands.
War Raiders and Judgment Day had another “blandly competent” (thanks to WhatCulture’s Michael Sidgwick for that term) match that played the hits, with New Day once again on commentary before getting ejected from ringside. Eventually, Judgment Day cashed in on Roxanne Perez’s distraction to pick up the win over the Raiders, who continued their slide down the tiny tag division. A loss to the Creeds would complete the fall.
The SmackDown Six, this is not. Raw continues to trot out the same teams in slightly different combinations to have instantly forgettable matches while fans are left wondering why WWE split the two tag titles up at WrestleMania 40 in the first place.
And just as a reminder, A-Town Down Under, New Catch Republic, LWO, and Alpha Academy all are established tag teams on the Raw roster.
