6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (26 June - Review)

UPS…

6. IC Title Match Is ON

Gunther Matt Riddle
WWE

Throughout his year-long Intercontinental Championship reign, Gunther has dominated the main roster while having some of the best matches imaginable, exceeding even an eternal optimist’s wildest expectations.

But his burgeoning feud with Matt Riddle could make for the best match yet. Riddle’s laid-back vibe and MMA-flavored offense contrast perfectly with Gunther’s no-nonsense attitude and hard-hitting in-ring style.

Riddle has slowly wormed his way into Gunther’s orbit in recent weeks, first injuring Giovani Vinci, and then defeating Ludwig Kaiser last week. He challenged the big Austrian before attacking Kaiser backstage, only to get leveled by Gunther, who accepted.

Just like that, we have a match that could steal the show. However, given Riddle’s injured ankle, there’s a good chance what we’re getting at Money in the Bank Saturday is an appetizer/angle, and the real battle will be a rematch at SummerSlam.
