2. Gable The Magician

Whatever WWE is paying Chad Gable, they should increase it by a substantial amount. Gable has been on a roll for a good while now, delivering reliably good-to-great matches against opponents of all varieties.

Monday night’s sparring partner: Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare needed a good, believable match where he would come out on top but still build sympathy throughout. Gable easily provided that with some thoroughly excellent professional wrestling, at one point catching a Disaster Kick attempt and nailing a German suplex. He very nearly pulled off the upset with a Cliffhanger DDT and moonsault combo, which had fans a bit stunned.

All of that serve to fire up Cody, who unloaded on Gable, dispatched Otis with some humorous banter outside, and then nailed a breathtaking Cody Cutter before putting Chad away.

The outcome was never in doubt, but fans got a great little match that reminded them of what Rhodes can do in the ring – and that’s what we needed here.
