5. Cheesy Sound Effect Rule!... Or Not

Seth Rollins

Did you know Miz’s cell phone is connected to WWE’s sound system? It’s perfectly normal!

They had a decent idea going for a bit Monday night with Seth Rollins trying to get Miz to call Logan Paul since he was having trouble connecting with the social media star. When Miz refused, Rollins knocked him out and stole his phone. This led to the unforgivably cheesy moments with Seth trying to unlock Miz’s phone and sound effects of the phone “unlocking” and then the ringing phone and ensuing conversation being played through the arena speakers.

It's the kind of hammy stuff that you’d expect under Vince McMahon, but you would have hoped someone in this revelatory new Triple H era would have stepped up and said, “Hey, playing phone sound effects and an entire conversation out loud in an arena is unrealistic and dumb. Let’s find a workaround.” Nope.

This isn’t some deal-breaking situation that ruined Raw, but how hard would it have been to have this take place backstage where the audio of the call being picked up would have made sense? It was campy when it didn’t need to be.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
