6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (30 Jan - Review)

4. An Underwhelming Return

Rick Boogs The Miz

To be honest, this writer had 100% forgot that Rick Boogs existed.

And still, his surprise return on Raw Monday night was nothing short of underwhelming. Miz was out complaining (as usual) about his lot in life – because all of us with model-hot wives, a giant house, reality TV show and a successful wrestling career can relate – when Adam Pearce came out to interrupt.

Pearce reintroduced Boogs, now wearing a plain black singlet with close-cropped hair and tassels on this boots. Boogs air-drummed and air-guitared his way to ringside and squashed Miz, who was still wearing his suit.

Boogs’ charm was in his entire presentation as a one-man band (sorry Heath Slater) and even playing guitar for Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme. Coming out as Pearce’s surprise opponent for Miz wearing black with little fanfare was just about as dull as you could get.

Sure, we got a backstage segment later on with Boogs, the Street Profits and Elias, but that wasn’t enough to salvage the actual return earlier.
