1. Breakker Climbs The First Rung

On the heels of “winning” the battle with Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event, Bron Breakker scored a more legitimate victory on Raw, earning the first slot for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match next month.

The win accomplished a couple of important things: it backed up the renewed push of Breakker, and it put him in a match that could provide a shortcut to a world title via the briefcase. WWE likes to use the term “building momentum,” but this was the personification of that.

The triple threat between Breakker, Ethan Page, and Rey Mysterio was really nicely done, with some different dynamics and antics to this one from most triple threats. Page tried to form an alliance with Breakker, only to eat Bron’s fist. Rey kept swinging away and trying to get the 619, but Breakker intercepted him once, and Page blocked it on another occasion.

Breakker hit his leaping clothesline off the apron on Page, but when he sat on the announce desk to gloat, Mysterio leapt off the barricade to hit a West Coast Pop on Bron. NICE. Later, Breakker raced around the ringside area for a running shoulder, only for Rey to dive out of the way and Ethan to leap onto the apron to safety, with Bron crashing into the steps.

And then there was Bron’s Breakensteiner on Page, who happened to have Rey across his shoulders at the same time. That was a fantastic, jaw-dropping move that transitioned nicely into the finish, with Breakker spearing Rey for the win. Good stuff here with the right result.
