6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (7 Sept - Results & Review)

DOWNS…

6. That’s ‘Entertainment’

WWE Raw Kit Wilson The Miz Matt Matthews

WWE continued its “must involve celebrities in our programming” edict Monday night, interviewing hometown comedian Matt Mathews in the crowd.

The interview didn’t go long before designated celebrity engagement wrestlers The Miz and Kit Wilson interrupted him. Miz read a different section of his Wikipedia page, this time talking about his 20th anniversary in WWE and mocking Alabamans before Mathews said he thought Miz was retired (oooh, sick burn!).

Miz yanked the comedian over the barricade and tossed him into the ring with Wilson, who threw him into the ropes… and Mathews hit a hurricanrana. Because comedians with no formal wrestling training can just do that. Miz quickly dropped him with a Skull-Crushing Finale to end the segment.

This wasn’t entertaining, or funny, or interesting. It was another eye-roll-inducing experience that we just have to endure as WWE chases the dragon with these celebrity encounters.
