6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (7 Sept - Results & Review)

5. Bayley Returns

Here’s hoping that Bayley is treated with a bit more dignity and respect after returning to WWE on Monday night to get a measure of revenge on Lyra Valkyria for taking her out of action earlier this summer.

Valkyria beat Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, then beat her up, and effectively wrote her off television. A return was in doubt due to Bayley's contract status, but that seems to have been cleared up. On Raw, Bayley pulled referee Jessika Carr out of the ring to break up a pinfall attempt after Lyra hit Maxxine Dupri with Nightwing. A few seconds later, Sol Ruca dropped Lyra with a Sol Snatcher for the win.

Bayley then entered the ring and battered Lyra until she fled. On a positive note, Bayley received a solid ovation from the crowd, and if WWE is committed to her, she could do quite well. However, the company has had a strange way of showing respect for the talented performer in recent years.

For now though, we’ll be optimistic, and it will be interesting to see how this feud continues, because Lyra looked a bit lost at times trying to find a new feud with Bayley gone.
