6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 31)

5. Blood Feud Or Title Shot?

Dominik Mysterio Seth Rollins

For better or work, WWE has been selling us on the story of the Mysterios being wronged by Seth Rollins and Murphy. The Monday Night Messiah has tried to ruin the Mysterio family, making their lives a living hell.

And Monday, the feud spilt over into a match that could have set one of them up for a world title shot.

Sorry, but it just doesn’t work. Maybe it’s because we’ve seen nearly every permutation of this feud during the past couple months, or maybe that this was the fourth match pitting Dominik Mysterio against Rollins in just over a week. Or maybe it’s because Dominik was in his fourth professional wrestling match and potentially could be up for a PPV world title bout.

Whatever the case, it didn’t quite feel right. And also, right on the heels of the Mysterios getting a measure of revenge winning the tag match at Payback, now Dominik goes out and gets stomped by Rollins and loses… and then gets stomped afterward.

Because no matter what, the feud must continue.
