6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (July 26)

3. There Are No Winners

When the graphic announcing the Keith Lee/Karrion Kross match popped up, this writer immediately started thinking about how WWE could make it so both men lost.

Indeed, early in the match between two of the biggest crimes of last week’s Raw, it looked like both could be counted out, but the show went to commercial before the referee got to 10. When they came back, we got a decent, but somewhat pedestrian match between the two, with Lee seemingly going through the motions until he tapped or passed out (it wasn’t clear) to Kross.

On one hand, it’s important for the NXT Champion to not lose two weeks in a row in the lead-up to a big match against Samoa Joe. But on the other, why did WWE bring Lee back to lose two weeks in a row like this? He could have popped back on the radar and made a splash, but he seems to be headed toward “already in the ring” territory at this rate.

More than likely, WWE will give him a win here and there to give fans false hope, then will release him because he couldn’t get over.
