6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 21)

4. Scrubs Have A Point

Every year when they have Money in the Bank, there are the unresolved questions about al the other wrestlers who don’t get a chance to compete for the briefcase – especially those who don’t get a qualifying match.

On Monday, a few of them jabbed back. Jinder Mahal, Cedric Alexander, Jeff Hardy and Sheamus argued with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville about not being included in the qualifiers, with Jinder and Jeff noting they were former world champions, Sheamus saying his United States Championship should be his golden ticket, and Alexander saying they need to stop relying on “antiques” living on past accolades and invest in someone whose best years are ahead of them.

(Side note: Whoever wrote that line for Alexander should probably take a close introspection of their own and their colleagues’ booking for the past several years, because that line easily could apply to WWE in general.)

Nothing came of the kvetching at that moment, but it was at least good to see wrestlers arguing for an opportunity instead of it falling silent. Oh, and Jinder hinted at taking one of the participants out and possibly taking their spot. That could be foreshadowing taking out Drew McIntyre to set up a SummerSlam match.
