6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 21)

3. Crazy Like A Fox

Normally, New Day’s silly antics would stand a decent chance of garnering a “down” when weighed against a main event storyline, but in this case, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods used their goofy routine to goad Bobby Lashley into exactly what they wanted.

Lashley, MVP and the ladies were about to have a champagne toast when Kofi and Xavier came out with… toast. *Groan* After throwing the toast into the ring, MVP called them clowns, which led to Kofi reminding them that he pinned Lashley last month. He then challenged the champ to a world title match at Money in the Bank next month, which Lashley quickly accepted.

The All-Mighty Champion then challenged Xavier, who went on a mini-rant about how neanderthal-like Lashley and MVP were, before upping the stakes and demanding the match take place on Monday night inside Hell in a Cell… which Lashley quickly accepted again.

It was pretty clear that New Day’s antics simultaneously riled up and let down Lashley’s guard, giving Kofi and Xavier what they wanted for the evening.
