6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 21)

5. Morbid Curiosity

Eva Marie Doudrop

This writer was all ready to issue a “down” for the renaming of Piper Niven to “Doudrop” by Eva Marie and treating her like a novice, but then WWE went and threw us a curveball.

Eva and Doudrop competed in a tag team Money in the Bank qualifying match against Asuka and Naomi. Eva Marie confirmed what we suspected last week: she’s basically continuing her heel persona from previously, avoiding competing for lame excuses (last week, she caught a cold after getting a mani-pedi). She continued that by letting Doudrop do most of the work in the tag match.

But when Eva blind-tagged herself in and didn’t get a pin immediately, she tried to tag out – only for Doudrop to short-arm her and drop off the apron. This allowed Naomi to roll her up to win the MITB spots.

So now, this writer is actually curious about where this Eva Marie story goes. Does Doudrop revolt, reclaim her name and set out on a different path? Does Eva yell at her and make her cower? Or do they reset on a different level? For one week at least, this move makes you want to see what happens next.
