6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (March 7)

Ups…

6. Despondent Losers

Kevin Owens

In recent weeks, the team of Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins have talked up how they needed to win the Raw Tag Team Championship to secure a spot at WrestleMania 38. They even gave a promo to that effect Monday night just before the tag title triple threat.

So when they hit their tandem offense on Chad Gable and looked poised to win – only for Riddle to steal the pin – it understandably set the duo off. They both sat on the apron in stunned silence, with Owens eventually landing on the floor, leaning against the steps in quiet disbelief. Backstage, both men were too shocked to speak.

That immediate reaction pretty well sold how despondent and lost they were after losing what looked like their last path to a Mania match. Sure, it’s hard to believe they’d keep both men off of WrestleMania, but the angle worked decently, and the two of them made it as believable as could be.
