5. A Good ‘Out’ For Balor/Theory

As the match between Finn Balor and Austin Theory unfolded Monday night, you knew they couldn’t afford to have either man lose their match – Balor had just won the United States Championship last week, and Theory was just announced as facing Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38.

The solution was simple: Have Finn come close to vanquishing Austin, and then have Damian Priest pop up and cause a DQ. That worked just fine, as Priest tossed Balor off the top rope as he went for the Coup de Grace. Damian didn’t do his usual split personality gimmick here, just kept attacking and laid Finn out with the Razor’s Edge, which would make for a great new finisher for him, especially after he called himself “the bad guy” last week.

To make things better, Theory snuck back into the ring afterwards like the smarmy heel he is and took a selfie with the laid-out Balor. Just a nice little touch to a decent angle. And the match itself wasn’t bad.
