6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (12 June - Review)
4. What Was The Point Here?
Serious question: You have your tag champs going into a unification match in less than two weeks, so why would you book one of them in a two-minute singles match where they have to cheat to win?
Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey are supposedly being booked to be dominant heel champions who are legit badasses. They aren’t your typical underhanded heels – at least not on paper. So of course WWE books Baszler to get bounced around by Raquel Rodriguez (who is partnerless) and need Rousey to save her.
The match itself wasn’t even long enough to register, making it even more pointless. Unless Liv Morgan is coming back in a few weeks (highly unlikely), Raquel won’t be vying for the tag titles, so there was no need for her to be in this spot. If you wanted a showcase for the tag champs, throw Emma, Nikki Cross, Tegan Nox or Xia Li out there to get stomped rather than having to protect Rodriguez.
