After losing his first match on Raw in a handicap match with outside interference from Maryse, you had to hope this was a bump in the road for Damian Priest and not a sign of a post-WrestleMania de-push.

It looks like on Monday night, we got our answer. Priest toppled Miz despite Maryse’s best efforts, avoiding a repeat rollup loss and nailing Hit the Lights to put the A-lister down. This came after Damian interrupted Miz & Maryse’s celebration for their reality TV show, calling out Miz for winning without honor last week, which is actually a pretty good way to acknowledge the loss but downplay it at the same time – without just ignoring or diminishing it too much.

Priest looked sharp in this match, but you have to wonder where things are headed next: A PPV rematch? A bout against John Morrison (who was noticeably absent)? Or is that it for this rivalry? Either way, at least Priest got a convincing win.
