6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 37 - Night 2

1. What The Hell Was That?

So after an attempted homicide, a mystic resurrection, and months of fireballs and black goo, Randy Orton and The Fiend finally met in the ring again… and they had a regular wrestling match.

With all the various stipulations flying around the WrestleMania card, you would have thought that this would have been a Firefly Funhouse match, or some weird contest. But aside from red lights, Orton and Fiend just wrestled a normal match with typical moves.

But just when you thought it wasn’t strange enough, Alexa Bliss appeared on top of the Jack in the Box decked out like some dark queen – and proceeded to “bleed” black goo from the crown. This somehow distracted Fiend, who then turned around into an RKO… for the pin.

After six months of this supernatural stuff, Orton and Fiend had a regular wrestling match – mixed with a bleeding Queen Bliss – and then Fiend, who came back from the dead, jobbed to an RKO.

Oh, and then Fiend just disappeared from the ring. And the crowd rightly booed. Hopefully, this is an unceremonious ending to a horrendous feud. If not, we need to find a way to Old Yeller this rivalry for good.
