6 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Sep 20)

1. Triple Threat Delivers

When WWE booked a PPV-caliber triple threat on the fly as the Raw main event, all you could hope for at that point was for the match to deliver on its inherent expectations.

And it did.

Bobby Lashley, Roman Reigns and Big E tore through each other in an energetic and sometimes frantic match that saw each man batter one another with their best power moves, including E hitting a Big Ending on Roman twice, only for Lashley to save both times.

There was a lot of curiosity about how they’d book a finish, since none of the three could really afford to lose cleanly. Lashley beat E silly with a steel chair, then turned around into a spear, giving Reigns the win. But the All Mighty got one up on his main rival, so that actually worked out pretty well overall.

Great closing to Raw, though it stunk that we didn’t get an announcement about a WWE Championship match at Extreme Rules.
