3. A New Moon Rises, Kai And Gonzalez' Historic Reign Falters

Not even being given a whole night to bask in their glory (Keith would not be pleased), Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez were thrown a pair of fiery babyface challengers on day one of their NXT Women's Tag Team Championship reign.

The tank-riding team of Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon weren't here just to take part, though, as the pair exploded out of the gates at the new Champions, with Moon landing a sweet dropkick on Kai and Blackheart quickly locking in a cloverleaf on 'The Captain of Team Kick'.

However, that momentum sadly wouldn't last forever as Gonzalez soon regained the advantage for her side through her trademark power game. An extended spell of dominance from the Champion's was then ultimately broken by a Moon hot tag, with the former NXT Women's Champion knocking Gonzalez out of the match and nailing Kai with a senton and unique knee-to-the-face manoeuvre.

The faces would continue to press their advantage, overcoming a Gonzalez dominator-esque slam on Moon to produce a stunning sequence involving Blackheart crossbodies, hurricanranas, and a wicked tag team electric chair on Kai. Then, just as it looked like Gonzalez was set to seal the deal after blocking an Eclipse with her sheer strength, Kai was sent hurtling into her partner before being rolled up for the slowest three count in NXT history.

None of that matters, though, as the newly crowned Champions watched their belts slip away after just over an hour of holding the gold. Could this be the beginning of the end for Kai and Gonzalez? If it means we get to watch the former being thrown around a ring by the latter for 20 glorious minutes, sign us up.

For now, it looks like Gonzalez will have the honour of facing NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai at TakeOver. Expect some bloody fireworks, folks.
