6 Ups And 1 Down For WWE NXT (Mar 10)
4. Atlas Can't Get The Job Dunne
After showing off his remarkable physical transformation throughout the lockdown months in the time since last week's show, Pete Dunne was set for in-ring action last night against the unfortunate Jack Atlas.
Flanked by the NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, Dunne wasted little time bullying his plucky opponent. Despite Atlas' attempts to flip his way out of trouble, 'The Bruiserweight' stuck to his usual plan; bend his adversary's limbs into a mangled mess. Rinse. Repeat.
The much-improved former gymnast would not be deterred, however, putting together an impressive string of offence consisting of devastating kicks, a standing moonsault and a wicked release German suplex. Yet, Atlas' confidence eventually appeared to get the better of him when Dunne telegraphed a Cartwheel DDT attempt and proceeded to stomp the life out of his rival. A unique, finger-snapping armbar was soon cinched in by the brutish Brit as Atlas screamed out for mercy upon submitting.
Not content with his savage display in the ring, Dunne then quickly took to the mic and declared himself the "best technical wrestler in the world", daring anyone to prove him wrong.
Your move, Daniel Bryan...
