6 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE TLC 2019

5. The Feud Must Continue

No one in their right mind thought that the Rusev/Bobby Lashley feud was ending Sunday night. But that knowledge doesn’t make their match at TLC any more satisfying.

Lashley and Rusev at least showed more fire than Miz did in his supposedly personal match earlier in the night, but to be honest, tables matches at almost always dull because of the supposed built-in drama.

That might sound counterintuitive, but the entire premise of the match is built around putting your opponent through a table. So you end up with a ton of awkward spots teasing an opponent going through a table, which is what fans (who often chant “We want tables!”) really want. So you get fake-out Irish whips and other near-misses. If it’s done well and fans have bought into the feud, it can work.

But here, the match wasn’t bad, but it dragged to its conclusion of Lana interfering to help Lashley put Rusev through a table for the win.

This wasn’t terrible by any stretch, but it just isn’t clicking. Still willing to have my mind changed though.
