6 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE TLC 2019

4. Who’s Looking Out For Kairi?

This bears mentioning here, especially in case it’s a serious injury.

During the course of the TLC match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, it became fairly obvious that something was off with Kairi Sane. She seemed to be slogging through the match. You could brush off her unsuccessfully throwing chairs into the ring, but by the time she took Charlotte Flair’s spear poorly, it was obvious she wasn’t right.

So naturally, no one did anything as Flair slapped Sane and then deadlifted her and powerbombed her through a table. Because if Kairi didn’t have a concussion yet, by God she’d have one then.

The blame has to fall at the referees and ringside doctors, who are there to look for warning signs and check on the wrestlers, especially after big bumps like a fallaway slam into the barricade, or when an errant monitor smacks a wrestler in the back of the head, or when a chair bounces off the ropes and smacks a wrestler in the face, or when a wrestler can’t take a move correctly.

All of that happened to Kairi, and yet she continued to compete. Becky Lynch called her a warrior on Twitter, but it never should have gotten to that point.
