6 Ups And 11 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel

1. An Embarrassment Every Way You Look At It

There is no easy way to say this: Crown Jewel was a disaster of epic proportions from nearly every angle, except WWE’s wallet.

Aside from the obvious political issues of moving forward, the actual show itself featured horrendous booking, subpar wrestling and long-term damage to one of its few marketable stars.

We saw a legend un-retire for what amounted to a glorified, overproduced house show in an overbooked meaningless tag match. We saw a 48-year-old executive win a tournament he entered in the final round to crown the best wrestler in the world. We saw the full-time, popular superstar lose a title match to the part-time pariah in a squash.

And lastly, we saw WWE too embarrassed by the situation to even reference where in the world they were, even as they boasted about being in Australia last month.

Any one of these would simply merit a down or two and then we’d move on. But taking all of these (and other negatives) into account, we have to put them all here and let it all sink in that this was all on one show.

You seriously can’t make this sh** up.
