Sometimes, little things can make even what is just a glorified house show tournament feel important.

Before each first-round match of the WWE World Cup Tournament, ring announcer Greg Hamilton rattled off the various accomplishments of each wrestler: titles won, Royal Rumbles won, Triple Crowns and Grand Slams. It provided an air of legitimacy to why each of the eight men were in the tournament.

Even someone like The Miz, who is often dismissed as a solid midcard act, was pumped up with his world, US, and Intercontinental title reigns and being a Grand Slam champion. It wasn’t a huge thing, but it was a really nice little touch.
