6 Ups And 11 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel

2. Angle Looks Better Than Ever! (In The Past Year)

One of the announcers’ favorite tropes for more *ahem* established superstars is to talk about how they look “better than ever,” despite being 45+, broken down and well past their prime. It really is insulting how throwing a couple punches suddenly sends the talking heads into hysterics.

But Kurt Angle actually looked better than he had in recent years at Crown Jewel, clearly bulking back up to a wrestling physique that more closely resembled him at his prime. And the Olympic gold medalist also looked crisper in the ring than he had since his limited return to action last year.

If he indeed is gearing up for one final run in the ring, then it looks like he might be able to hold up his end and not look lost out there. Against Dolph Ziggler, Kurt snapped off German suplexes and did some mat wrestling, showing he still has some skills.

It will be interesting to see if we get Angle in some more matches at time wears on, but at least he looked a lot better in the ring than we had seen previously.
