This Sunday, The Miz will defend the WWE Intercontinental Title against the high-flying Apollo Crews. Right now, that belt is the second most important (behind the WWE World Heavyweight Title) on SmackDown. Why then was development of the feud between both men relegated to the commercial break?

Just after Miz had invited both Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler onto Miz TV, he turned his attention to Crews. None of this was shown as happening live, it was simply recapped when the show returned from a break. That hardly puts over the SummerSlam match, or indeed the Intercontinental Title, as valuable.

WWE were already struggling to establish Apollo Crews as a deserving challenger for the gold, so it definitely doesn't help when the guy is made to look like an afterthought. He should have been part of the segment, or at least Miz TV could have continued when SmackDown returned from the break.
