6 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Feb 3rd)

Ups...

6. The Vaudevillains' New Attitude

Is chivalry dead? It might just be, and it's a really exciting prospect to see where it takes The Vaudevillains. At Takeover: Brooklyn, Simon Gotch and Aiden English won the NXT Tag Team titles to the delight of 13,000 fans in the Barclays Center. They would keep the belts for a couple of months before losing them to Dash & Dawson. Then on the December 2nd episode of NXT, Gotch and English lost a match to American Alpha but, rather them usually accepting a handshake from fellow fan favourites Jordan and Gable, they refused. This week, The Vaudevillains faced The Hype Bros. in tag team action and the two men seem to have an entirely new attitude, one with more aggression and less care for what the fans think. Corey Graves, who is masterful on commentary, talked about how The Vaudevillains started to put a lot of stock in what the people thought and maybe that cost them the Championships. The announcers are telling the audience the story of why we're seeing a change in demeanour and more of a heel role from Gotch and English. Once they won the titles, The Vaudevillains didn't seem as exciting and with Enzo & Cass and American Alpha around they were, at best, the third most popular tag team in NXT. Now, after a big win over Ryder and Rawley this week, The Vaudevillains' new aggressive attitude looks to have given the team a fresh lick of paint and they're a force to be reckoned.
