5. Peyton Dues
The next match on the show was a women's bout pitting Carmella against Peyton Royce. Prior to the match, a pre-taped promo was aired where she wished Enzo the best (very nice) and congratulated Cass on main-eventing Raw (not exactly what happened), then explained that she was still in NXT because her dream was to become the brand's Women's Champion.
She came out to the ring and cut another promo, this one a weak rip-off of Enzo's shtick, then was joined by Peyton Royce, who was holding (and occasionally munching on) a flower. The announcers said she thinks of herself as the Venus Fly Trap of NXT, despite the fact that the plant she was holding was not a Venus Fly Trap.
Despite all that, the match was great, and Royce was mainly responsible. She took it to Carmella with some great-looking offense, including strikes and suplexes. When Carmella eventually made her comeback - and scored the win with an inverted triangle - it had been set up very well. The match wasn't that long, but it really worked.
