6 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (May 25)

Ups...

6. A Hot Start

Tag-team wrestling is ideal for opening the show, and this was proof of that. Plus, both squads (Raquel Gonzales and Dakota Kai especially) have stunning individual chemistry that only heightens when they're in the ring together. Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon know how to sell for Raquel, put it that way.

One of them will make a fine challenger for the NXT Women's Champ.

That seems to be the plan, and it could be Moon who gets the nod. No NXT fan should have any issues with that, although there is a creeping sense that TakeOver: In Your House is a bit of an afterthought when it comes to title matches. That worrying thought aside, this opening tag was blistering stuff.

It kicked the broadcast off nicely, furthered the notion that Kai is becoming a bit of a weak point for Raquel and helped establish the Shotzi/Ember combo as the female tag-team in this company. Just great work all-round.
