Plunder in a multi-person match can be a blessing or a curse. It can augment and heighten the drama, or it can drag things down and overload a match.

Thankfully, the women’s WarGames match made smart use of the table, ladders and trash cans (and lids) that were tossed into the rings. The wrestlers used the plunder liberally, but there was a ton of normal action between the 10 women.

Iyo Sky walked the ropes before hitting a missile dropkick, then later delivered a moonsault from the top of the cage. Nikki Cross hit a diving crossbody off the top onto everyone. Asuka hit her usual flurry of strikes on anything that moved. Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley’s power games were on full display. Becky Lynch’s return was perfectly measured, right down to her getting the winning pinfall after a diving legdrop off the cage, through a table.

Yes, this was a chaotic match, but it didn’t rely on the weapons to carry the day. Rather, the weapons complemented the wrestlers’ attacks. That’s the way it should be, especially with talented superstars like these 10.
