6 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (April 30th)
3. Becky Lynch On The Rise
Despite featuring in an unnecessary squash match, Becky Lynch has seen her stock skyrocket recently. Formerly the minion of Sasha Banks, Lynch had a tendency to disappear into the background of her high-profile match-ups. At Takeover: Rival she was by far the least exposed of the four competitors, having nowhere near the connection with the fans enjoyed by Charlotte, Bayley or Banks. But her performances against those three women have been solid, if not more than that, and the fans have reacted in kind. During the #1 Contender's Match between Lynch, Charlotte and Bayley, she was cheered the most of the three ladies, and this week she starred in a short but effective promo outlining her wrestling history. During the vignette she discussed starting training in London at 15, travelling to Canada at 17, working in Japan and how important the NXT Women's Championship was to her career. She instantly seems like more of a legitimate contender for Sasha's crown and this new exposure will couple with her considerable talent to create a match worth getting excited about in 3 weeks.
