6 Ups And 4 Downs From NXT Roadblock 2023

2. Why Continue After Decisive Finish?

Most people probably assumed that Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin were headed for NXT Stand and Deliver with a stipped-up rematch, which would heavily imply that we’d get an inconclusive finish to Tuesday’s grudge match – maybe a double count-out or a DQ.

But instead, Gigi scored a pretty clear and straightforward win, only for Jayne to attack after the bell. The match itself was pretty basic and nondescript… unless you count Jacy’s screaming and Dolin’s monologue while mounting her former tag partner and then slapping her.

The implosion of Toxic Attraction was never going to produce a wrestling classic, but it was surprising that they chose to have a decisive finish when this feud almost certainly is going to continue. That’s some Vince McMahon era booking right there.
