6 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Nov 16)
4. Jones Time Reigns Supreme Over Diamond Mine
Another star who seems to be picking up the right sort of momentum on this changed up Tuesday night offering comes in the form of one Odyssey Jones, who this week lined up alongside Jacket Time's KUSHIDA and Ikemen Jiro to take on Diamond Mine's Creed Brothers and Roderick Strong.
Getting over Jones and Julius & Brutus' freakish strength and agility from the get-go, this contest really did seem to be designed to put all three of the future stars on a pedestal, with the Creed Bros in particular unleashing hell on Jiro via some nasty slams and suplexes.
But the real star of the show was the MVP of the Breakout Tournament as Jones was able to power out of the amateur lads' offence and thoroughly squash the Cruiserweight Champion for a monumental win. And Strong seemingly has an out for his troubles too, with Malcolm Bivens inadvertently distracting the ref whilst Jacket Time teamed up on Strong in the ring and the Creed Bros. lack of experience resulting in them both being dispatched simultaneously on the apron.
Yet, though this result and contest as a whole made sense and was rather enjoyable in isolation, what this means for Diamond Mine and the CW title remains to be seen. We can't realistically have Jones battle over the 205 lbs title, right? Saying that, would you really put it past this nutty show to strap the man mountain with the Cruiserweight title before the year is out? And would you be that mad?
