6 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Oct 19)

3. Kool Kyle And Von Wagner Bond Over Wood

Perhaps the biggest casualty of NXT's new school taking over is the one-time chosen one to takeover at the top of the card, Kyle O'Reilly. Following on from his Undisputed chapter coming to a close, the star has been beaten out of an NXT Championship four-way, and despite not losing on NXT TV for an age, doesn't feel anywhere near a contender for the brand's top strap.

To make matters worse, Kool Kyle now finds himself on the precipice of being lumped into another tag team for the foreseeable, with this week seeing the former NXT Tag Team Champion running around some woods with Von Wagner as the pair "bonded" over pull-ups.

As a quick solution to overcome Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland's continuous attacks on the former UE man, aligning with Wagner at least made a bit of sense. But deciding to form a consistent dup to "do some damage" feels like a backwards step for a star who once looked like he was set to become the black and gold man.
