Just when you thought lightning could strike twice or there could be a surprise return in store, WWE simply delivered an unceremonious beatdown.

Jinder Mahal had a rematch from last week against Chad Gable, who upset him last week by countering the Khallas into a pinning combination. They had another competitive match, but Mahal won cleanly, getting his win back. Then, Sunil Singh mouthed off to Gable, leading to Chad piefacing him and then earning a beating from Jinder.

Throughout the attack, fans kept looking for someone to run out to save Gable, as fans speculated that Jason Jordan would finally return and save his old American Alpha tag partner, possibly reuniting the duo and giving both a huge boost.

But alas, nothing happened, other than Mahal decimating Gable. Because, why not?
