1. Beating An Unbeatable Monster

For better or worse, WWE spent the better part of 2019 trying to get Erick Rowan over as a dominant, almost unbeatable monster. He had been pinned this year only once.

On SmackDown, Rowan was the heavy for Daniel Bryan, beating up opposition and providing the muscle to protect the former world champion. He defeated Roman Reigns on PPV, and was drafted to Raw as a potential monster heel for the red brand.

Then on Monday, Rowan suddenly faced off with Seth Rollins, the flailing Universal Champion, in a Falls Count Anywhere match that was to serve as a primer or warmup match for Rollins’ PPV bout against Bray Wyatt on Thursday.

Rowan dominated much of the match, but Rollins hit a stomp on a ladder and then convinced a forklift operator to lower the life onto Erick so he couldn’t kick out of a pin.

Yes, we saw the return of the forklift pin on Raw. And just like that, Rowan had lost his Raw debut match in a tune-up bout for Seth Rollins.
