DOWNS…

WWE loves to ignore its own history whenever it’s convenient, but just because it’s their own, that doesn’t mean they should get a pass.

During the World Heavyweight Championship match, Michael Cole talked about Drew McIntyre’s pandemic-era world title reign and noted that his first title defense came at Money in the Bank against Seth Rollins.

Except… that’s not true.

McIntyre defended his WWE Championship moments after he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, when the Big Show came out to immediately challenge him. The Scottish Warrior managed to topple Show in a few minutes to hold onto the newly won title.

That match – which was actually McIntyre’s first title defense – was shown on Raw the following night.

It’s not like WWE can’t write or talk around that bit by saying “his first post-WrestleMania title defense,” but instead they just lie because it’s easier and then hope they don’t get called out.
