6 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Dec 14)
2. Tony Shines As Dunne Looks Set To Dine
Everything involving the mighty Tony D'Angelo utterly sang on this week's edition of 2.0, from his impressive borderline babyface work in-between the ropes against an always hilarious Andre Chase, to his quoting of Tony Bennett to open his post-match promo, this guy's got the stuff!
No sooner had he dispatched the plucky King of the Campus, Tony was focused on hammering home the fact that he's a man of his word. But clearly p*ssed at the reminder of how he lost his gumshield at WarGames, it wasn't long before Petey Poppins made his presence known in the CWC. A few more wicked zingers were sent The Bruiserweight's way in the form of him being told he had a face only a mother could love and that the man of few words talks too much. And the newcomer masterfully forced a switch in audience allegiances with his execution of an attempted sneak attack on the beloved NXT OG.
Dunne was having none of it and soon snapped his fingers into oblivion, smashing the gumshield trophy box to reclaim his trusty mouthpiece as the two now look set to battle it out in a week.
Simple but compelling stuff. And the match itself should be a joy too. Sometimes it can be just this easy, you know.
