Whenever WWE announces musical acts appearing at PPVs, many immediately cringe. We’ve seen too many examples of performances during the show that grind the action to a halt and get booed or met with general disinterest.

So when it was announced that Migos would be appearing at Day 1 in their hometown of Atlanta, it was understandable if you cringed. But WWE actually did a smart thing and had Quavo from the rap trio do a hype video kicking off the PPV, which worked really well. The group then did a brief backstage interview before coming out with RK-Bro for their tag match.

After the Raw tag champs defended their title, Migos got in the ring and celebrated, giving them some time in front of the hometown crowd.

It’s not that musical performances are all drek, but unless the group is playing entrance music for a wrestler, it grinds the show to a standstill and adds nothing to the event.
