6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 25)

DOWNS…

6. Slipped On A Banana Peel

There’s an old adage about it being better to be lucky than good, but the person who came up with that probably never saw the B-Team perform.

Since rechristening themselves, the former Miztourage is undefeated in action, although most of the time they’ve won through dumb luck and the opponents’ mishaps. Monday was no different. Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas have been parodying the Raw Tag Team Champions, Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt (respectively), and with a tag title shot looming, Axel faced Hardy in one-on-one action.

Hardy started out on fire, but as he went for a superplex, he “slipped” on the ropes and Axel turned it into a crossbody for the quick pin. And just like that, Axel and Dallas remained undefeated, winning once again through dumb luck rather than skill.

That’s going to happen once in a while, and it’s fine for a wrestler or team to luck into a win, but when that’s your gimmick, it doesn’t exactly make you look like a top title contender. They don’t need to beat up everyone, but can we dial back on the banana peel victories a bit?
