6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 25)

5. So… Bayley’s The Heel, Right?

Who booked this crap?

The breakup of best friends Bayley and Sasha Banks was so easy to write, even Nicholas could do it: The Boss starts undermining Bayley until she finally just unloads and double-crosses her friend for good, leaving a gullible Bayley to rebuild and get her revenge.

Instead, this storyline dragged on and on and on, until it finally spilled over last week with a bizarre backstage fight that saw Bayley be the aggressor. That seemed out of place, but then this week, it really got dumb.

Bayley and Sasha teamed with Ember Moon to face the Riott Squad. Things broke down with everyone outside except for Banks and Ruby Riott. A quick distraction proved enough for Ruby to get a small package pin for the victory (whatever), but as soon as the match was over, Bayley assaulted Sasha, beating her from pillar to post.

It was completely out of character for Bayley and just seemed like the writers were trying to out-“smart” everyone. The expectation was that Banks would be the one to attack Bayley (because that fits her character better), so they decided to have Bayley beat her to the punch (because she’s naïve, so no one would expect it).

Just dumb. Even with the fans cheering, it was still dumb.
