UPS…

6. Good Celebrity Involvement

While Lonzo Ball being the LA Lakers’ top draft pick just four days earlier was a really timely and relevant celebrity appearance, we’re going to give a tip of the cap here to Josh Duhamel for an inoffensive turn on commentary.

Celebrities appearing on WWE programming is often a mixed bag, with the guests unsure of how to react or act on the show. Duhamel, star of the Transformers movie series and director of an upcoming WWE film, joined the commentary team midway through a six-man tag match pitting Finn Balor and the Hardy Boyz against Elias Samson, Cesaro and Sheamus (who is co-starring with Duhamel in the WWE film).

Duhamel acknowledged he had never been to Raw before, but also avoided saying insipid or dumb things. He even gave a very “real person” reaction watching the six men bump around the ring: “How sore must these guys be after this?” He gave a nod to the Hardys for having done this for 20 years as well.

Simple, short and inoffensive. When WWE does something right – especially when it’s something they often get wrong – we should give them credit, even if it’s just a small pat on the back.
