Making announcers part of storylines is a risky prospect. They’re technically there to call the action, not to be part of it. Sure, several have in-ring experience, but that doesn’t make it OK.

However, Corey Graves’ ongoing interactions with Kurt Angle and pivotal role in revealing Big Cass’ lie last week has been an interesting storyline. His involvement almost cost him Monday when Cass threatened Graves to stay out of his business, but noted that Angle wouldn’t allow him to touch the former wrestler.

Cass speculated that Corey must have really good dirt on Kurt, which was something Graves refused to comment on when Booker T pressed him. It’s a nice touch and leaves a question out there that needs answering at some point in the near future.
