6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 11)

1. McIntyre Decimates 2/3 Of The Shield

If you were wondering who Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent was going to be, wonder no longer.

Drew McIntyre jumped Reigns before his scheduled match against Baron Corbin and laid him out with a pair of Claymore kicks. That led to Roman being escorted to the back to get checked out. Dean Ambrose demanded a falls count anywhere match with McIntyre to get revenge.

As you could imagine, the departing Ambrose didn’t fare too well, as McIntyre would go so far as to stab Dean with a pencil, ram him into the LED board, and hit a Claymore kick while Ambrose was tied up in the railing.

The entire last half-hour of Raw was designed to put McIntyre over as a monster who is nearly unstoppable. And while it was well done, it would have been better if he hadn’t just lost to The Shield the previous night.

Still, this presumably sets up Reigns to get revenge himself in three-plus weeks at Mania, so that’ll work just fine. (Or maybe we’ll get a tag match as a farewell for Ambrose.)
