6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 22)

5. Crazy Like A Fox

No, this isn’t an item about Alicia Fox. Sorry.

Sometimes, it takes only a simple act to drive home a point rather than using a sledgehammer, as WWE is wont to do. In this case, consider the Intercontinental Championship match between Dean Ambrose and the Miz at Extreme Rules. Unlike most of these PPV matches, their bout carries the stipulation that if Ambrose gets disqualified, he loses the IC title. (This is due to Dean hitting a low blow at the last PPV and getting DQ’d.)

So, to make the point obvious, Miz jumped into the ring during Ambrose’s match against Elias Sampson and hit a double sledge on… the Drifter. This drew a DQ against Ambrose, giving Sampson the win. And just like that, we see that there’s a really big loophole allowing Miz to capture the IC title.

Simple, plus it gives Elias a win in his Raw debut, a match where he actually was holding his own against Ambrose. So that also helps boost this item as an “up.”
