When it was announced that new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions the Kabuki Warriors were facing the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champions, all you could think was that they were somehow going to job the new title-holders and kill them dead, because reasons.

But then, they did something smart: Asuka used the green mist (which she used to win the titles at Hell in a Cell) to blind Becky Lynch, allowing Kairi Sane to roll her up for the pin. The match itself wasn’t anything to write home about, but it further established the new champs as heels who would use underhanded measures to win. Mission accomplished.

And then, just to further things a little more, former champs Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross ran out to save Charlotte Flair from a further beatdown, which showed them bouncing back and setting up a rematch there.
