6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 9)

1. The Shield Returns

There are plenty of negative things we could say about WWE reuniting the Shield at this time. It felt like a cheap ratings ploy, especially since it was to confront the Miz and (initially) the Miztourage.

However, let’s close out with a positive note about reforming one of the most popular groups in recent WWE history, one of the rare times that WWE correctly booked and protected several wrestlers, turning newcomers into legit threats and megastars in a matter of months.

Consider that all three men are former world and tag champions. All three are former United States Champions. Two of them have won the Money in the Bank briefcase, while the other has won the Royal Rumble.

So yeah, we could tear apart the decision to bring them back together, but in the interest of just being a fan for a hot minute, let’s give them their due. Hopefully, it will yield some fruit. If it falls flat, then we might all be in trouble as fans.
